In My Reading Life
Last week, I finished Rebecca
by Daphne du Maurier. Then I read Weird
Things Customers Say in Bookstores by Jen Campbell and Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. Right now, I’m reading Good Bones and Simple Murders by
Margaret Atwood and My Grandmother Asked
Me to Tell You She’s Sorry by Fredrik Backman.
In The Rest Of My Life
Five things that made me happy last week:
- Weird Things Customers Say in Bookstores is funny. I read it in one night when my dog was sick and I couldn’t sleep.
- My dog is okay! She ate garbage and required a trip to the emergency vet, but after some ridiculous vet bills, she’s back to normal. For a few days, she was really miserable.
- Hanging out at the dog park.
- I’m pretty excited for the solar eclipse. According to the internet, I should be able to see 91% of it from my house. As long as it’s not raining.
- Lots of people have been entering my giveaway! I was worried that no one would enter. That would have been devastating.
Take care of yourselves and be kind to each other! See you around
the blogosphere!
Yay for your blogoversary! Oh an sorry about your dog but glad she is better. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear that your dog is on the mind. Vet bills are pretty shocking over here too. I think if I had a dog I'd have to get pet insurance but that can cost a tidy sum too. Ah don't worry about the giveaway...us moochers always love a free giveaway!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your blogoversary and I'm glad your dog is healing well. I hope you have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogoversay!!! I'm glad your dog is felling better. hope you have a great week ahead...
ReplyDeleteHappy readin',
Jenea's Book Obsession
I'm definitely looking forward to your Thursday post.
ReplyDeleteThe bookstore book seems like it should be funny. Glad it didn't disappoint.
Be safe with the eclipse.
(I can't help with bills. Hope you're managing okay though.)
I am glad your dog is ok..IHappy Blogoversy!!
ReplyDeleteI started Treasure Island a while back and got sidetracked, never finished. I need to go back and finish it. Weird things looks like a riot. And glad to hear your dog is okay! Yikes that would be scary. Vet bills can be so expensive, I thought my cat was going to cost me more than my car at one point.
ReplyDeleteWe are supposed to get 99% of the eclipse here. Should be interesting!
ReplyDeleteGlad that your dog is doing okay!

First off the important stuff - very glad your dog is okay, and happy blogoversary!!
ReplyDeleteI read Weird Things Customers Say In Bookshops in one night too, and it made me giggle out loud several times, much to the bemusement of my nearby cats. I enjoyed it extra much as I've been watching Jen Campbell on YouTube a lot lately and think she is a fabulous human being.
I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Rebecca and Shadow & Bone. The former being one I feel like everyone who reads loves, and I should probably read. The latter because I think I'm pretty much the only person who kinda sorta didn't really like it all that much. But maybe you will point out some things I missed or a perspective I didn't see, which I always appreciate. Or if you didn't love it, then we can be weird outcasts of the book world together. Either way, I'm happy! I hope you have a good reading week this week, and that your puppy continues to improve!
Happy blogoversary! And so glad to hear your dog is fine. We won't be able to see that much of the eclipse here in Pennsylvania, but I too am hoping the clouds and rain stay away.
ReplyDeleteGlad your dog is feeling better. I love the variety of books you read. We are expecting mostly cloudy skies today which isn't good for eclipse viewing. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteHappy blogoversary! Enjoy your week, and I'm glad your dog is okay.
