Happy holidays, bookworms! Today, we're talking about the books I'm hoping to find under the tree on Christmas morning. Will Santa bring these books? Probably not, but I can dream, right? Here are 9 books I'm desperate to read right now. Maybe there's something on my list that the book lovers in your life will appreciate.

I've read approximately 4 romance books in my life. That means I can declare myself a romance novel expert and start spouting nonsense on the Internet. So, that's what we're going to do today!
I want to be a romance novelist. To reach my romance-novel-writer dreams, I found several websites that randomly generate book titles. I got myself a free Canva account and (slightly) learned how to use it. Then I slapped together some book covers and invented a synopsis for each one. Romance novels achieved!
I regret to inform you that none of the books in this post are real, but you probably won't be disappointed by that news.

It's not the end of the year yet, but we're getting close, which means it's time to do The End Of The Year Book Tag. Hopefully these six questions will help me (and you) organize our reading lives before the year is over. It's time to get our butts in gear and smash our reading goals, people!
If you want to answer these questions on your blog, go for it. Consider yourself tagged. You still have a few weeks before the year is really over!

I have a confession: I don't like book series. I rarely find series to be worth the time it takes to read them. There are usually "filler" books or books that are just setup for something that happens later in the series. Why would I want to read those when I could read several awesome standalones?
That being said, I don't completely dismiss series! I have read a few that I adored. No regrets with these books. Here are 10 young adult and middle grade series that I highly recommend.
(I'll only give summaries of the first book in each series because spoilers!)

You remember nonfiction from school, right? It's dry and tedious, and you'd happily stab yourself in the eyeball with a pencil if it meant you didn't have to read another page of it? Today, I'm here to change your opinion of nonfiction! It's not all boring. Sometimes, it's fast-paced and fascinating. It'll alter the way you see the world. Here are 10 nonfiction books that I couldn't put down. Since I'm a strange creature, the books on my list all have elements of death, destruction, and survival. They're a bit dark. (But the best books are always a bit dark.)

The final three months of the year are always a little magical, aren't they? You've got the paranormal spookiness of Halloween. Then there's the magic of the first winter snow. (Well, at least there's snow in my part of the world. I don't know about your section of the planet.) Then there's Santa and Christmas magic. It seems like a perfect time to create a magical book recommendation list. These books have characters with supernatural abilities or settings where magical weirdness happens.

Happy autumn, bookworms! It's my favorite time of the year. (Yes, I'm a basic bish. Feel free to judge me harshly.) I love fall because my work season slows down, and it's not hotter than the surface of the sun outside. Fall is a brilliant time for reading! You can listen to an audiobook while strolling through a (hopefully not haunted) forest. Or, you can curl up by the fireplace with a thick classic. The reading possibilities are endless!
Here are 10 books I'll be reading in the next few weeks:

If you're anything like me, then you have no self-control when it comes to books. You hop online to order one book and end up ordering seven because they're on sale. Six of those books sit on your shelf for a year until you have time to read them. If you do that often enough, you'll find yourself facing the problem that I'm trying to solve today. Too many books and too little time!
I have become less of a bookworm and more of a book hoarder. There are currently 87 unread books sitting on my shelf (and floor, to be honest) because I don't have time to read them. I've never owned that many unread books before. According to my spreadsheet, a new book stays on my shelf for an average of 10 months before I read it. I could get pregnant and grow an entire human faster than I can read a book! That's because I work 50+ hours a week and have a family. Whenever I try to read, I fall asleep after a few pages. Unfortunately, books have been put on the back burner of my life.

Welcome to my favorite blog post of the year! Today, I'm bringing all the positive vibes. These are the 8 best books I've read so far in 2022. For extra drama, I organized the list countdown style.

As of today, the year is half over. Can you believe it? I can't. So . . . how's everybody holding up? Are you doing okay? This year has been intense for me. I started a new, unbelievably stressful job. I don't regret it at all, but I understand why my former therapist tried so hard to convince me it was a bad idea. I guess the life lesson from 2022 is, "Why the heck did you give a therapist so much money if you won't listen to them?"
In other news, Baby Brooklyn is 3 years old and already acting like a sassy teenager. How does she have so many opinions? She's three!

Do you know which books you're going to read this summer? I do! Here's my summer reading list. A few of these books may have been on my reading list last year. Oops. In my defense, I work a zillion hours during the summer. I'm reading as fast as I can!

Do you ever get distressed by how much things suck? Of course you do. Today, I'm here to solve that problem. We're talking about books to read if you want to mentally escape.
This was a hard list to make because I'm notorious for reading depressing, pretentious things. The stuff I read usually requires a lot of brain power and doesn't leave you with jolly feelings. The books on this list aren't completely frivolous. They tackle some difficult subjects, but they do it in ways that will make you smile.
Okay, let's escape.

Today, I'm going to write one-word book reviews. Yep. One word. You're just going to get a cover photo and a single word. I'm sure this post will be a raging success and sell thousands of copies of these books. All customers buy products after hearing only one word about them. Right?
Right?

My journey to becoming a bookworm was kind of unusual. I hated reading when I was a kid. I wasn't good at it. I thought books were boring. My parents weren't readers and also thought books were boring, so we didn't have many of them in the house. When bloggers write "childhood favorites" book lists, I always feel left out because I didn't have childhood favorites! Child-sized-me didn't read.
I didn't care about books until I was 11 and needed a book for silent reading time at school. I found an old Stephen King paperback in my parents' bedroom and decided to read that, even though I knew nothing about it. It was love at first page. I was obsessed. I devoured as much of the book as I could before my parents discovered I had it and took it away. Apparently, 11 is too young for Stephen King.
Even though I didn't get to finish the book, it transformed me into a bookworm. I became more open minded about other books and spent more time in the library. Between the ages of 11 and 14, I read everything. I was trying to figure out my reading tastes.
I started asking for books as Christmas and birthday gifts. My parents bought me a lot of books during my time in middle school. My book collection became my favorite possession. In the (many) years since middle school ended, a few of my childhood books have fallen apart from too many re-readings. Others went missing or were given away to make space for more books. Now I only have a few of my childhood books left.
So, let's talk about them! Here are the lucky survivors. I love them so much that they'll never be chucked into a donate box. They will stay with me until my heart explodes from eating too many nachos. RIP. 🧀

Do you ever buy a book and not read it right away? Then it sits on your shelf for weeks because there are so many books and so little time. It keeps getting bumped down your reading priority list. Months (or years) pass. Then you start wondering why you haven't read this particular book yet. What's wrong with it? Why are you prioritizing other books? Maybe you've lost interest in the topic. Or maybe you saw a bad review after you bought it. Or maybe it's a giant, scary book about complicated things, and you don't have the mental energy for that nonsense right now.
Today, I'm going to look at the 10 books that have been sitting on my shelf the longest. I'll try to figure out why I haven't read them yet. It's your job to convince me to read them or dump them. I got all these books between July 2020 and January 2021, so that's how long they've been gathering dust.

I've been a bookworm on social media for a long time. Every few years, I come across a tweet or Instagram post that asks, "What's the worst thing you've done to a book?" It's a fun question. Usually, people respond with, "Dropped it in the bath," or "Left it on a bus," or "Spilled grandma's famous chili all over the last page."
I have a story for you. The worst thing I've done to a book is too big to fit in a tweet.

Have you ever wondered which books school children will be forced to read in 50 years? Which modern novels will stick around, and which will fade to out-of-print obscurity? That's what we're talking about today. Here are 10 modern novels that I think will become classics.
Before starting this list, I had to define "Modern novel." My college professors defined it as "Any book published after WWII." I don't think that definition will work for this post because it's too big of a timespan. The Catcher In The Rye and To Kill A Mockingbird were both published after WWII, and we already consider them classics.
For this list, I'm going to choose books that were published between 2000 and 2010. Those books have been around long enough to become beloved by readers but not long enough to be considered classics (yet).
Also, this list is going to be very USA-centric. Sorry about that. Different countries have different classics. I don't think I could make a list of classics for the whole world. My brain would overheat.
Okay. Enough blathering. Let's get into it.
