Today, I'm going to write one-word book reviews. Yep. One word. You're just going to get a cover photo and a single word. I'm sure this post will be a raging success and sell thousands of copies of these books. All customers buy products after hearing only one word about them. Right?
Right?
Click on the title if you want a synopsis of the book. Let's see if I can do this . . . .
One-Word Book Reviews
Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead
"Sex"
"Yes!"
"Gothic"
"Berries"
"Gallivanting"
"Terrifying"
"Secrets"
"Quirky"
You are helping me lean toward Orange World, Poet X, and How to Order the Universe.
ReplyDeleteYes is such a great one-word review!
ReplyDeleteMy post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-one-word-reviews-for-the-last-ten-books-i-read/
The word "gothic" will at least make me take another look at a book!
ReplyDeleteThe only one I've read is Poet X and "Yes!" fits it perfectly! 🥹 Some of the other words have definitely piqued my curiosity in the books though, like 'berries' for The Diviners and 'terrifying' for YOU! Great one-word reviews :)
ReplyDeleteHi AJ!! How's the new job?? In one word...!! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteLove what you did and had to laugh at 'sex'. I remember when you told us about the book, so I actually get it. What a great cover for The Animals of Lockwood Manor. How to order the Universe - I love the title!
Hope you are doing well!

I knew you would do something interesting with this. I am curious about "berries"
ReplyDeleteI'm so intrigued at "berries" being used as a one word review.
ReplyDeleteI love this, but I do need more information about The Diviners!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I did laugh at the 'sex' review - that may be one one-word review that can sell a book :D Though I also really love 'yes' and I'm very intrigued by 'berries'
ReplyDelete"Berries"? I've read The Diviners and I can't remember what you mean! Granted this was a few years back, so I guess I've just forgotten! Terrifying is definitely super fitting for You though.

I have no idea what you mean by berries for The Diviners. I loved that book and I'm just at a loss, lol.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT
One word description is Sex! Too funny.
ReplyDeletePlease tell me what "berries" means bc I liked that one! haha. Great list!
ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten!
Berries for the Diviners is on point.
ReplyDeleteThis is FABULOUS and kind of genius. I now really want to only write one word book reviews, think publishers will frown upon it? I won't lie, the "sex" book has me curious bwahah. I definitely want to read The Poet X, and it seems like you liked that one, yay!
ReplyDeleteOh, this is so fun, and it's making me sad that I didn't do a TTT this week. I just might have to do this same topic next week to make up for it.
ReplyDeleteWell sex and berries have definitely intrigued me since those are not the words I'd have guessed from the covers lol.
ReplyDeleteGothic has me intrigued! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying this TTT and seeing how descriptive bloggers can be with only one word.
ReplyDeleteMy one-word after seeing your list - quandary!! I have only read The Poet X and 'Yes!' fits it perfectly.. And while I am in two minds about reading 'You' after having tried to see past one episode of the show, all the unread books (which is 9!) here have me intrigued.. My TTT is here
ReplyDeleteI know one word reviews aren't exactly helpful but I sure would like writing them more lol

So Maggie's book has a lot of "sex" in it? I haven't picked it up yet but will.
ReplyDeleteI agree, The Poet X... yes! 👏👏👏
