FF Friday: In Which Some Stupid Person Allows Me To Pitch A Movie

Feature & Follow is a weekly blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

This week’s question: How would you pitch to the biz to make your favorite book into a movie?

Answer: No intelligent person would allow me to pitch a movie. I can’t imagine that going well at all.

Most of my favorite books already are movies, but if I had to pitch one, I’d pick the MaddAddam trilogy by Margaret Atwood. I’ve heard that this series may become a television show at some point in the next few years, but it would make a good movie, too.

I’d pitch it as, “A post-apocalyptic world populated by super-intelligent human/pig hybrid creatures.” That’s enough to convince someone to make a movie, right? I know I’d totally watch that.

  1. I think I'd be a terrible person to pitch a movie too. It'd be an awkward and embarrassing mess full of flailing and fangirling. Old follower!

  4. I'm not a good speaker, so I'd be terrible at pitching a movie.

  5. I can talk in front of a crowd, but I have to be passionate about what I'm presenting. Pitching something takes a lot of confidence as well as thinking skills both with preparations and on your feet!

  6. Your answer is real funny!! Lol. I LOVED the way you summarized the trilogy! Some Hollywood exec.would get a big laugh out of that. But seriously, this trilogy does sound like it would be a terrific movie or miniseries. I mean, how can you miss with Margaret Atwood? I'm not familiar with this series, but I would expect nothing less than the best from the author of "The Handmaid's Tale".

Thanks so much for following my blog, and for commenting on my FF post!! I'm now following you on Bloglovin' and Twitter!! : )

  8. I've never read any of the author's books before, but the "human/pig hybrid" creatures made me snort lol. If you're pitching them for a movie, the books must be good!

  9. Omg, I doubt anybody in their right mind would allow me to pitch a movie, either. Especially considering the kind of books I read. :D

  10. Good pick! I've actually only read Oryx and Crake so far but I look forward to reading the other two soon. I love anything Margaret Atwood but her dsytopian novels are awesome. If they are making this into a show I'll be super stoked!
