The Sunday Post is hosted by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a
chance to recap the past week, talk about next week, and share news. It’s
Monday, What Are You Reading? is hosted by Book
Date. I get to tell you what I’ve read recently.
On The Blog Last Week
- On Monday I reviewed Brides of Eden: A True Story Imagined by Linda Crew.
- On Tuesday I listed some awesome YA books I’ve read recently.
- On Wednesday I reviewed Furiously Happy: A Funny Book about Horrible Things by Jenny Lawson.
- On Friday I let you choose what I read next.
- On Saturday I had a book haul.
On The Blog This Week
- On Monday I review I Am Nujood, Age 10 and Divorced by Nujood Ali & Delphine Minoui.
- On Wednesday I have some itty bitty movie reviews.
- On Thursday I do the nonfiction tag created by Wendy @ Falconer’s Library.
- On Saturday there’s another book haul. (So many books, guys.)
In My Reading Life
I
finished The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. Then I read Guys
Read: Funny Business by Jon Scieszka (editor) and Through the Woods by Emily Carroll. Right now, I’m reading Challenger Deep by Neal Shusterman.
In The Rest Of My Life
Five things that made me happy
last week:
- I’m thrilled with the response to my “Tell me what to read” post. I thought everybody would be like, “Nobody cares what you read,” but bookworms are very opinionated about books. I should have known that.
- Couch to 5k is back on track. I had to skip running for a week because I scraped the skin off the side/bottom of my foot.
- It’s the start of caramel apple season.
- The leaves are changing color on the aspen trees.
- Book Mail!
I hope you had a great week!
See you around the blogosphere!
I love posts where people ask me what to read and I like to post them on my blog myself. Glad you got a good response. Yay for book mail!
ReplyDeleteI’ve seen those posts on other people’s blogs, so I thought I’d try it myself. I’m thrilled that it worked so well.

2. Ouch. Hope you don't do anything like this again.
ReplyDeleteI hope I don’t do it again either. It made a bloody mess everywhere.

I need to get back into running. I'm in such terrible shape right now. Last year around this time I was healthy and fit. sigh. :(
ReplyDeleteEven though I run several times a week, I’m still in terrible shape. I just really, really like food.
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I also have a copy of Through the Woods sitting on my shelf right now that I checked out from the library! I really need to read that ASAP! Hurray for running and caramel apples (hopefully they don't cancel each other out)! Have a great week :D
ReplyDeleteHere's my Weekly Recap!
Lol, I’m betting they do cancel each other out. I hope you enjoy Through The Woods. I really liked it.
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Sounds like a great week! I still need to read Phantom and Through the Woods looks great too.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy them, if you read them.

I've never thought of asking people what I should read next, might make for an interesting post! Though, then I'd actually have to follow through with it, and I'm such a mood reader, I might not be in the mood to read the book everyone's chosen, and it would feel like being in school all over again. ;)
ReplyDeleteLuckily, I’m not a mood reader, so I let people pick my fall TBR. They chose a good variety of books for me.

Ouch! I hope your foot gets better or the running! I'm currently trying to get back into Yoga to relieve some stress from myself due to my job and it's working so far!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post!
Yep, my foot is better. Good luck with your yoga!

Hi AJ, everybody is just very nice here on the blogosphere and of course we are very concerned as to what you are reading. Need to ensure you stay on the right track you know. Have you enjoyed Phantom of the Opera? Hope you will have a good reading week and that your foot gets better real soon! Here's my Sunday Headlines: http://marelithalkink.blogspot.co.za/2016/09/the-sunday-headlines-2-missing-mind.html
ReplyDeleteI don’t know why I keep getting surprised by how awesome this community is. Everybody is so nice.

Did you enjoy Phantom of the Opera? I finally read it for the first time last year and found it very entertaining!
ReplyDeleteI struggled with The Phantom of the Opera. It’s entertaining, but there’s so much melodrama.
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Well done re the couch to 5k!
ReplyDeleteAnd I laughed at that taser meme cos that's so me!
Lol, thanks! Sometimes I’m too curious for my own good.
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
That's great you're doing Couch to 5K...I feel like a lot of people are doing that right now!
ReplyDeleteCouch to 5K is great because it slowly eases nonathletic people (like me) into running. I’ve been doing each week’s exercises twice instead of only once, so it hasn’t been too hard so far.
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
oh yes to the start of caramel apples...I just love them. And hope you foot heals soon, so proud you are going for a 5K.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Eventually I’ll actually be able to run a 5k. :)
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Now I want to know what your pick was after reading everyone's opinions!
ReplyDeleteI'm eager to hear your thoughts on Challenger Deep, which I love. Through the Woods is super popular in my classroom because graphic novel + creepy = middle school love. Why aren't there more like that?
I'm also excited to see your nonfiction picks, and thanks for sharing my very first tag. Stay safe while running (and eating caramel apples).
I really liked Challenger Deep and Through the Woods. I’ll try not to hurt myself while running. I’m painfully uncoordinated. :)
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I love your comment about bookworms being opinionated. So very true!! I thought Challenger Deep was a fantastic (but very strange) read.
