Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Today, we’re talking about bookworm problems. Here are 10 signs that you’re a hopeless book lover.

Signs You’re An Incurable Bookworm

You're an incurable bookworm if: You've Googled "How much weight can a floor hold?" because you're worried about your overstuffed bookshelves.

You're an incurable bookworm if: You make Harry Potter references at work, even though your coworkers don't understand them.

You're an incurable bookworm if: You convinced your friends to dress as characters from your favorite book.

You're an incurable bookworm if: You've accidentally dropped a book on your face.

You're an incurable bookworm if: You constantly rearrange your bookshelves in a futile attempt to make space for new books.

You're an incurable bookworm if: You wonder if following your favorite author on every social media site is considered "stalking."

You're an incurable bookworm if: You've crashed into a mailbox because you thought you could read and walk at the same time.

You're an incurable bookworm if: You can't be trusted with a credit card in a bookstore.

You're an incurable bookworm if: You spend boring workdays planning which books to buy with your next paycheck.

You're an incurable bookworm if: You shout at stupid book characters, even though they're not real and can't hear you.

Have you done any of these things?
I may have done all of them . . .

  4. I sometimes use slow work days to manage my library holds and browse Goodreads! I also am guilty of constantly rearranging my shelves - I need to just accept that there is no more room left.

  6. I totally shout at characters in the books. Is that odd? I mean, people yell at the screen in the movie theatre. I deem this acceptable behavior. I have attempted to walk and read, but it's never a big success.

  7. I may be guilty of more than a few of these... But I'm lucky and my co-workers understand the HP references. :)

  8. Ha love these! I don't know if I've dropped a book on my face but I do drop them all the time when I fall asleep reading... you'd think I'd know enough to stop when I'm tired, but no. I keep trying "one more page" or "one more chapter" and then THUNK I jump because my book fell on the floor or something. Or on the poor cat. :)

  9. I've yelled at book characters before. I definitely cannot be trusted with any currency in a bookstore. :) Great list!

  10. The dropping a book on my face is a problem. It's gotten a little better since I switched to Kindle for most of my nighttime reading but still!

  11. Okay but what if you spend boring workdays READING? Also I am cackling because my dad is straight up TERRIFIED about my floor collapsing into the living room because he is convinced there is too much book weight 😂 I am also the HP one, but for The 100. Honestly people just roll their eyes and assume it's a The 100 reference at this point. And they're right, of course.

  12. I've done two of these. I don't think I've dropped a book on my face, mainly because I think that would be an uncomfortable position to read in. I've dropped it on the bed though, as I fall asleep reading.

  13. "You've accidentally dropped a book on your face." Yep. That's happened a few times... 🙃

  14. I have worried about the weight of all the bookcases in my bedroom! I have dropped a hardback book on my face once and thankfully didn't break my nose! After that I started reading sitting up! I'm actually just about to rearrange my shelves again to fit some new books in. Task for tonight I guess! I certainly do yell at dumbass characters as if I can change what they're doing! It's fun!
