The Sunday Post #124

The Sunday Post is hosted by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to recap the past week, talk about next week, and share news. It’s Monday, What Are You Reading? is hosted by Book Date. I get to tell you what I’ve read recently.

I hope your Thanksgiving was great (again)!

On The Blog Last Week

On The Blog This Week

  • On Monday I review The Stranger in the Woods: The Extraordinary Story of the Last True Hermit by Michael Finkel.
  • On Tuesday I show you my Newbery TBR.
  • On Wednesday I review The Edible Woman by Margaret Atwood.
  • On Thursday I catch up on some tags.

In My Reading Life

I’m still participating in the Tome Topple Readathon. That means I’m only reading huge books for the rest of November. Last week, I finished The Secret History by Donna Tartt. Right now, I’m reading A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin.

In The Rest Of My Life

Five things that made me happy last week:

  1. Thanksgiving!
  2. I ate so many different kinds of pie.
  3. I ran out of books to read, and I may have gone overboard with refilling my TBR shelf. Oops.
  4. I had time to take photos.
  5. I finished all my human Christmas shopping. Now I have to buy gifts for my own dogs and all my friends’ dogs. (Yes, Christmas is for dogs, too. Don’t judge me.)

Take care of yourselves and be kind to each other! See you around the blogosphere!

  2. I unfortunately had the flu. It happens every year that I get a flu shot that I get the flu. I was in bed with audiobooks keeping me company all weekend.

  4. "Ran out of books to read." Is that a thing? Seems impossible.

  5. Oh, I do love pie...and there were many kinds from which to choose at the dinner on Thursday...but, since it was at my daughter's in-laws' home, I tried to behave and choose only one. LOL.

Enjoy your week, and I keep thinking I've read The Edible Woman...but according to what I've entered on Goodreads, I have not. Hmm.

Enjoy the new week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

I look forward to seeing your Newbery TBR. I'm kinda-sorta doing a Newbery challenge myself. (Sort of, because there's no set time frame.)

  16. "I ran out of books to read" <-- things I will never be heard saying. 😂 I think my books have filed a formal complaint of neglect, because I keep reading the new ones first and checking out books from the library. I really admire that you have accomplished reading all your books. Gold star for you!

  17. Finished shopping??? HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA I haven't even made a list yet.

  18. I love your list - I love pie, too:)). And I'm amazed and a touch intimidated that you have managed to clear out your TBR... I'll never read all mine in a couple of lifetimes - you clearly have a will of iron! I need to read a Donna Tartt book as one of my Creative Writing students keeps telling me what a fabulous author she is - so I look forward to seeing what you make of this one. Have a great week, AJ - and many thanks for popping by:)
