In My Reading Life
Last
week, I finished All the Birds, Singing by Evie Wyld. Then I read Perfect Little World by Kevin Wilson.
Right now, I’m reading The Forest of
Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan.
In The Rest Of My Life
Five
things that made me happy last week:
- Halloween!
- Christmas trees were on sale at Walmart.
- I may have acquired an on-sale Christmas tree. And I may have already put it up. It’s very bright, and it’s in the front window, so I’m sure the neighbors are thrilled.
- I got new running pants. My old ones were getting thin in all the worst places.
- I won at Goodreads.
Take care of yourselves and be kind to each
other! See you around the blogosphere!
Congratulations on your win at Goodreads! Enjoy your reading week! Can’t wait to see which Harry Potter character wins for president.

Oooh! I hope you love The Forest of Hands and Teeth! I read it years ago and LOVED it! Hurray for Christmas trees! I already have mine picked out too! Have a great week :D
ReplyDeleteHere's my Weekly Recap!
That meme is great! Congrats on your on sale christmas tree and winning goodreads!! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your Goodreads Challenge. Just in time too, as your gif says. LOL Christmas and New Years are almost upon us. Your books are new to me. Hope you enjoyed them:)
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post
I can't believe that Christmas is almost here! Congrats on reaching your Goodreads goal!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Book Photo Sundays!
Oh, Christmas stuff already! Sigh. Of course, this is nothing new.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about The Forest of Hands and Teeth. Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
I saw Christmas stuff on sale in September! Might be a little too early. But now I'm in the mood. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing your GR challenge. Now the books you read will just add on to that.
Hope you have a great week! ~Aleen
I've been curious about Perfect Little World, I hope you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteBwhahah I LOVE "I won at Goodreads"! Such a perfect way to say it. I am... going to ignore the Christmas tree thing ;) Very curious to hear your thoughts on The Forest of Hands and Teeth!
ReplyDeleteNice! Sounds like a good and productive week (you're so organized!)... I won't even side eye the Christmas exuberance in November lol
ReplyDeleteSo true re: Christmas lol. Crazy!!! The mall here I'm told is already festooned with all the finery. Songs in EVERY store. Can you imagine the workers who are inundated with those songs every day for 2 months? It's a wonder they're not drooling zombies by thr end. I mean I love Christmas, don't get me wrong, but still.
ReplyDeleteI do love seeing all the trees though, and frankly I get it when people put up early or leave the stuff on for a while after Christmas. It is a pretty awesome holiday after all. :)
Yay for Goodreads!!!
Congratulations on completing your Goodreads Challenge so early! And I had to laugh at the Cinderella "Christmas carols everywhere" meme. Boy, isn't that the truth?
ReplyDeleteI agree, Christmas is starting earlier every year! Glad to hear you got a discounted Christmas tree, even if it is a little bright, lol.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on completing your GRs challenge! :)
Looks like you are all geared to wring every happiness drop you can out of Christmas. Enjoy the tree!
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of Forest of Hands and Teeth - and the cover is also great. You have your Christmas tree up already?? *gulp* I haven't even STARTED thinking about Christmas yet... Have a great week and thank you for swinging by my site.
ReplyDeleteThat cartoon you put up is right...the last two days there has been an explosion of Christmas adverts with countless versions of jingle bells...it's already driving me mad!!! I'm feeling grumpy at the thought of all the extra shoppers as I try to stock up on everything I need so I can just hibernate until the festive season is over!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on completing your Goodreads challenge! I'm still hoping I'll make mine, but I'm not sure I will. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThat Cinderella cartoon is just...LOL! Congrats on completing your Goodreads Challenge. 100 books is impressive! This year will be the first time I've ever read 100 books so I'm pretty excited about that too. Hope you have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new pants! I have several pair that I just won't let go of. They're thin AND full of holes in all the wrong places (ask my Hubby he may disagree *giggles) and so I just wear those around the house. Have a great week and happy reading!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on completing your GR goal! I am so behind on posting my reviews on GR. Need to spend some time doing that this week.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on completing you GR goal.
ReplyDeleteHappy readings! ;)
Tânia @MyLovelySecret
Congrats on your Goodreads goal! Hope you enjoy your new Christmas tree. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on meeting your GoodReads goal. I met mine a while ago, upped it, and am near to meeting it again. I haven't decided if I'll raise it again or rest on my laurels. I'll have to check out what you think about Adam of the Road. I thought it was one of the more readable Newberrys. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteYea (happy dance) for meeting your challenge. You are right - Christmas carols EVERYWHERE - and trees. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the tree and the spirit of the season.
ReplyDeleteThe mall near my house put up all its Christmas decorations on November 1! I love Christmas as much as the next person (actually, probably even more), but this is too early even for me! But they haven't started playing Christmas carols yet, so thank goodness for small mercies. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see which Harry Potter character wins!
ReplyDeleteHA! We are going to start going through our Christmas decorations this week, so we'll be putting ours up soon too. My husband will be thrilled. Thanks for stopping by my Sunday Post. :)
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to Tuesday now! How exciting! Congrats on hitting your goal. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your HP post on Tuesday. That should be epic. :) I'm totally laughing that your Christmas tree is already up. You're one of "those" people. LOL Congrats on reaching your GoodReads goal!
ReplyDeleteI want to put up my Christmas tree so much!! My husband...not so thrilled about my plans. Congrats on winning at goodreads!!
ReplyDeleteThat meme is great and so true. At work someone already decorated their cubicle with Christmas decorations and we bought some ornaments over the weekend. This year has flown by so fast! Congrats on winning at Goodreads and for reaching your goal. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYou put up your Christmas tree?!?! It's too early for that! Of course, you should go for whatever makes you happy. My sister in law left hers up all year and decorated it for all the different holidays. Congrats on your Goodreads goal!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has been on a quest to find place either displaying or selling Thanksgiving decorations. When ever we find some, we take a photo. Come see what I'm reading.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, that meme is no joke! I had to go to Kohls last night to get clothes for my son for the funeral service and they are already ready for Xmas with music and decorations.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on reaching your Goodreads goal. That's amazing! Have a great week
Congratulations on winning at GR! I totally flaunt that, because my reading life is really the only place I am winning. 😂 That meme is 100% the truth. When I was kid, you never saw Christmas decorations until after Thanksgiving. I saw Christmas stuff in September. Crazy!
ReplyDelete100 books already this year is a wonderful accomplishment. One of these years I'm going to hit that goal as well :) Not this year though. LOL! Have a great week and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteYour upcoming discussion about 5 stars should be interesting :)
ReplyDeleteHa ha! I love that random pic! So true! And I just watched Cinderella with my daughter for the first time the other day! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend and thanks for stopping by my blog!
Haha I love seeing how people get so excited about Christmas already. Here it is socially unacceptable to have your Christmas tree up before Sinterklaas, a Dutch children's holiday that ends December 5th.
ReplyDeleteThe different type of holidays sure seem to follow one another quickly this time of the year. Here we have Sinterklaas on 5th December, so most of the Christmas craze won't start until early December. But the stores are full with Sinterklaas products in September already nowadays.
ReplyDeleteI like your list of things that made you happy. I got some new Christmas ornaments from my mom last week and I hope to set up my tree soon so I can see how it looks with the new ornaments. And yay for winning the Goodreads challenge!
