The Sunday Post #101

The Sunday Post is hosted by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to recap the past week, talk about next week, and share news. It’s Monday, What Are You Reading? is hosted by Book Date. I get to tell you what I’ve read recently.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!

On The Blog Last Week

On The Blog This Week

  • On Monday I review Underground Airlines by Ben H. Winters.
  • On Tuesday I show you the series I’m procrastinating.
  • On Wednesday I review Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys.
  • On Thursday I do the Mid-Year Freak Out Tag.

In My Reading Life

I ran out of Harry Potter books to reread, so last week I read The Heart Goes Last by Margaret Atwood. Right now, I’m reading The Girls by Emma Cline.

In The Rest Of My Life

Five things that made me happy last week:

  1. New running goals achieved! Each time I run, I’m going a little farther and a little faster. I’m never going to win a race, but I’m doing pretty well for someone who hates exercise.
  2. I ate a Pop Tart. I haven’t had one in a long time, and it was delicious. I think it also canceled out all the exercise I did. Oops. #NoRegrets
  3. A new dog park opened near my house. It’s disappointingly small, but the dogs will like it.
  4. I actually got some blogging done. I’ve been so busy with work that I’ve been neglecting the blog. Scheduling posts is amazing because you guys never know when I vanish from the face of the Earth for a few weeks.
  5. I got book mail. Probably too much book mail, but #NoRegrets

Take care of yourselves and be kind to each other! See you around the blogosphere!

  1. Yay on the running. Oh I haven't had a poptart in forever. I need to get some blogging done. I am behind. Oh book mail is always fun! Have a great week!

  2. The Mid-Year Freak Out Tag sounds interesting so I'll look out for that. I'm hoping to put together a few book tags over the coming weeks if I can find a bit of time! The postman visited me a LOT this week and I don't have any (maybe a few) regrets!

  3. 1. Good stuff.

    3. Interesting. I pictured you living out in the middle of nowhere, miles from your nearest neighbor.

    5. Ha.

  4. I haven't had a Pop Tart in ages but don't they have all these exotic flavors now? Well not exotic maybe but probably more than I remember... and yay for the running! And book mail is the best! Nothing like getting a new book (or books)!!!

  6. Every time I go to the grocery store I look at the PopTarts longingly, but I just can't justify all the calories right now!

  7. I've picked up running recently, and am trying to go both farther and faster each time I run too! I can't say I enjoy it, but it's good for me. I haven't read anything by Margaret Atwood yet, though I know numerous books written by her and intend to pick a book up by her sooner or later. Perhaps I'll start by reading The Heart Goes Last!

  8. Oh! I'll have to come back to read your review of Underground Airlines. I reviewed it last September. It will be fun to compare notes.

Summer vacation has begun and so has the extreme heat. Come see what I'm reading.

  9. I am tempted by the Margaret Atwood book, as I love most of what she writes. Some of her books (MaddAddam Trilogy) are not my cup of tea. But I loved The Handmaid's Tale, Cat's Eye and The Robber Bride. And a few others.

Adding this one to my list.

I always love your 5 Things. Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  10. Losing weight is on my to-do list, along with blogging more. I've been reading, just not writing. I've been walking, hope to move up to running but the weight has to go down some first or I'll kill my joints.

  11. I love scheduling posts ahead but used most of them up with my move and need to get to work scheduling some more. Of course, since at least half my posts are reviews, I need to get reading. I am barely ahead which is causing me some stress. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  12. The Heart Goes Last was probably one of my least favourite books of last year and The Girls one of my favourites. Will be interested to read your reviews.

  13. I love having scheduled posts. It usually just means that I will slack and use them up quickly but it feels good for a bit. Book mail is always a fun thing. Have a great week!
