The Sunday Post #100

The Sunday Post is hosted by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to recap the past week, talk about next week, and share news. It’s Monday, What Are You Reading? is hosted by Book Date. I get to tell you what I’ve read recently.

Can you believe I’ve written 100 Sunday Posts? That’s a lot of Sundays and posts, people!

On The Blog Last Week

On The Blog This Week

  • On Monday I review Smoke by Dan Vyleta.
  • On Wednesday I review Most Dangerous: Daniel Ellsberg and the Secret History of the Vietnam War by Steve Sheinkin.

As you can see, blog posts will be scarce this week. Real life has been busy. I’m up to many secret nefarious deeds, and they have eaten into my blogging time. I’m sorry if I owe you an email/comment/social media reply. I promise I’m working on it.

In My Reading Life

Last week I finished rereading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling. Then I pulled a random unread book off my TBR shelf and stared at it for a few minutes. Then I thought, Screw it, I wanna read Harry Potter, so I reread Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Right now, I’m reading The Girls by Emma Cline.

In The Rest Of My Life

Five things that made me happy last week:

  1. Facebook and Twitter loved my blog last week. Thank you to all the humans and Internet-addicted robots who share my posts on social media.
  2. I ran farther than I’ve ever run outside. It was hot too, and I barely complained at all. That’s progress. Running outside is still way harder for me than running on a treadmill.
  3. Rereading Harry Potter.
  4. Some of my sunflowers are getting tall. I hope they really do grow to 12 feet like the seed package promised. I want a giant flower. A few of my sunflowers are also dying, but we don’t need to talk about those.
  5. I’m halfway done with my Goodreads reading challenge. Unless I start slacking (which is always a strong possibility), I’ll meet my reading goal this year.

Take care of yourselves and be kind to each other! See you around the blogosphere!

  1. I so much love that sqirrel picture...it makes me laugh every time I see it! It's been years since my last Harry Potter reread and I miss them!

  3. Congrats on your 100th SP! And oh my gosh I love that Buttercup graphic- I burst out laughing when I saw that!

It's amazing how tall sunflowers can get. Gah!

  4. You are so organized! I had to go back and read your Tuesday blog that I missed--wow, some interesting topics in those books. I have read "Ordeal by Hunger" which was about the Donner party--it's old but good and used to be required reading for students in Nevada.

  5. I'm planning on re-reading HP but on audiobook because I've only listened up to the 5th book but I want to start all over and actually finish it this summer.

I've always wanted to grow flowers! My mother in law has roses but my kids overwater them so they can play in the mud so some never grew but like you said we don't need to talk about those lol.

I've been wanting to run more but haven't had a chance (or I'm lazy which is probably the case). I was running to and from the bus stop for my son but since school ended I haven't gone running. So you're doing way better then me so keep up the good work!!!

    Have a wonderful week!

  7. I love sunflowers! although 12 foot tall sunflowers actually might freak me out a bit! It's like they'd be staring down at me.....

I'm a bit over halfway done my Goodreads reading challenge. I'm really impressed with myself, I've read quite a bit even as I had tons of exams and tests and projects.

  9. I haven't added my reviews to GR lately, which I need to do. I should be getting close to my halfway mark too. Sunflowers! Those flowers can always make me smile. :-)

  10. Good luck with your sunflowers! The move is really happening. We have temporary housing squared away and most of our home library in storage now. Come see what I'm reading this week.

  13. I haven't read Harry Potter since they were released. It might be time to give the series a re-read but looking at the stack of them is pretty daunting. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  14. I just never got into the Harry Potter books...but I may read the ones with her pseudonym. I admire J. K. Rowling.

Love your five things that make you happy...and I try not to look at Goodreads totals...the TBR can be misinterpreted, as I list "want to read" on a lot of books that I never get around to reading.

    Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  17. Running outside is much harder for me too! But hey, at least you're running. I have a love-hate relationship with The Girls...I'm glad I read it, but when asked if I enjoyed it, I can't honestly say that I did!
