The Sunday Post is hosted by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to recap the
past week, talk about next week, and share news. It’s Monday, What Are You
Reading? is hosted by Book Date. I get to tell you what I’ve read recently.
Blogging From A To Z
The Blogging from A to Z challenge starts on April 1. My theme is
bookish memories. This challenge will probably be the most half-baked and
self-indulgent thing I’ve ever done on this blog, but I’m going to give it my
best shot. I hope you guys like personal posts because you’re going to get a
whole month of them. Every day in April (except Sundays), I’m going to write a short post about how books and book
blogging have impacted my life. Brace yourself. Posts are coming.
On The Blog Last Week
- On Monday I reviewed Guts: The True Stories behind Hatchet and the Brian Books by Gary Paulsen.
- On Tuesday I showed you what I’m planning to read this spring.
- On Wednesday I reviewed This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab.
- On Thursday I did the “Get to Know Me” tag.
On The Blog This Week
- On Monday I review Make Good Art by Neil Gaiman.
- On Tuesday I recommend some books under 200 pages.
- On Wednesday I review The Wave by Morton Rhue.
In My Reading Life
I’m still working through IT by Stephen King. I’ve read about 900
pages. I still have around 200 pages to go. I’m going to slay this book-beast!
In The Rest Of My Life
Five things that made me happy
last week:
- Yesterday was my birthday. I guess that shouldn’t make me happy because I’m another year closer to death, but I ate a bunch of junk food and didn’t exercise. That always makes me happy. (Even though the junk food and lack of exercise probably brought me even closer to death.) The universe won’t punish me for skipping a workout on my birthday, right?
- Burritos and chocolate cake.
- My mom got me 5 days of Nutrisystem for my birthday. We’ll see what happens with it.
- I’m petsitting my friend’s dog again. I like playing with him because he’s so bouncy! (The dog, I mean, not my friend.)
- Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction wrote a post about her reading habits that made me laugh. Also, it mentions everybody’s favorite subject: Me!
Take care of yourselves
and be kind to each other! See you around the blogosphere!
I hope you are enjoying IT! I love that book and can't wait for the new film. Nobody should EVER exercise on their birthday...it's unnatural! I never bother with exercise because I'm lazy and I hate it but thanks to this loss of appetite with the caffeine withdrawal, I'm losing weight without putting effort in so that pleases me!
ReplyDeleteI finally finished IT! I did enjoy it. That ending is intense.

Happy Birthday !!! You are totally allowed not to exercise on your birthday and just eat junk and cake. I have to go check out Nicole's post now!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all: Happy Birthday! It sounds like you had a fun one. Burritos and chocolate cake are my favorite! I am very interested in the Neil Gaiman book. I will read anything of his! If he wrote a description of paint drying, he would make it creepy and fascinating. I look forward to your April posts! Happy writing.
ReplyDeleteLol, I’m the same way with Neil Gaiman. I need to read one of his adult books. So far, I’ve only read the ones for kids.

Happy birthday!!!
ReplyDeleteI really need to read a Stephen King book. I read all those classic titles of his as a kid... it'd be cool to revisit them with an adult lens.
Someday I’m going to get through all of Stephen King’s books. I think I’ve read most of them now, but it’s taken me my entire life.

I saw the movie for It and I don't remember it being extra long. (shrug)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed your birthday.
The movie people were probably smart and cut out all the stuff that didn’t need to be in the book. :)

Happy Birthday! A day off from exercise sounds nice. Of course, I had 2 days off from exercise this week and then today's work out tried to kill me. I hope you don't have those issues.
ReplyDeleteI truly enjoyed Nicole's post about your OCD. Just kidding! I am really envious about your organization skillz.
How are you liking It? I really liked that book, but i read it about a hundred years ago. Can't wait to read your review.
Have a great week!
I did like IT. I also liked my day without exercise.

Happy belated birthday. My husband's is tomorrow! I'm joining up in the fun again and I'm hoping you'll stop by to my new domain.
ReplyDeleteIt's Monday! What Are You Reading?
Thank you! Happy birthday to your husband!

Happy birthday! All indulgences, all the time on birthdays!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, AJ! I really loved your All About Me post, so I'm sure I'll like a month of personal posts as well. I tried the A-Z challenge last year but fell apart around the letter M or so--it was too much after the daily posting for the Slice of Life challenge. So this year I will just read yours instead.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I’m trying to get ahead on the A-Z Challenge, but it’s hard. I have a feeling that some of the posts will be slapped together at the last second.

Happy birthday! Come see my reading week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThank you!

I believe it's been documented that you're not allowed to work out on your birthday, so you definitely did the right thing! :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad you loved my post. I know we're opposites, but that's what makes it fun---I need organized people in my life to balance me out!
Nicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
Awesome! I’m glad I didn’t work out, then. Your post was hilarious. :)

Happy birthday wishes a little late. Chocolate and burritos sound like a good idea to me...you do only live once and what is one extra day in return for those?
ReplyDeleteThank you! Chocolate and burritos are some of my favorite foods. I need them in my life.
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I've read a lot of Stephen King but IT just intimidates me....it's such a big book!! :S
ReplyDeleteI know, right? IT is huge. I read tons of Stephen King books when I was a teenager, but I always stayed far away from that one.
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Ooooh! Good luck with your challenge! I'm going to check it out now! And happy belated birthday! :D I can't wait to see what you think of It! I've never read it OR seen the movie, but I'm definitely thinking of watching the new one.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Weekly Recap!
Thank you! I haven’t seen the IT movie, either, but now I should. It’ll be interesting to see what they cut from the book.

Wow, what a cool blog. And Merry Birthday while I'm thinking about it! Your theme for 2017 A to Z sounds pretty cool so I'll venture back over. I'm writing flash fiction at JohnDavisFrain.com if you want to wander by anytime.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you and enjoy all the chocolate burritos you want (this week only).
Lol, no more chocolate burritos for me. Now I’m back to eating lettuce out of a measuring cup. Good luck with the A-Z Challenge. I’ll come visit you.
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I am looking forward to you A to Z posts. It sounds like fun! Happy Birthday, AJ! Chocolate cake and junk food always make me happy. I like bouncy dogs as well :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I’m hoping the A-Z challenge will be fun. The “challenge” part of it is definitely true.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I hope it was a wonderful one! And I am excited for ALL the posts! And I am extra excited for SHORT BOOKS. I love short books. And Nicole's post WAS funny- I loved how different you guys are- and how similar she and I are ;) I am jealous of the chocolate cake and burritos! Delicious, I am sure! And enjoy the bouncy dog and/or friend :D
ReplyDeleteThanks! I’m totally ready to read some short books. I just finished a 1000-pager.

ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday! I had thought about doing an A-G with a book theme, but didn't. I do think it would be fun to go through states or countries with a book from each...
ReplyDeleteBookish memories sounds like a pretty good A to Z thing to me. I like reading personal type posts.
