The Sunday Post #38

The Sunday Post is hosted by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to recap the past week, talk about next week, and share news.

On The Blog Last Week

On The Blog This Week

  • On Monday I review A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness.
  • On Tuesday I talk about the murky fringes of my reading comfort zone.
  • On Wednesday I review The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton.
  • On Thursday I tell you what I’ve been up to in February.
  • On Friday I list the reasons why I read books for grown-ups.

In My Reading Life

Last week, I finished The Miniaturist by Jessie Burton and read I Am The Messenger by Markus Zusak. Then I started Burial Rites by Hannah Kent.

In My Blogging Life

Feature & Follow Friday is back! I actually quit doing FF Friday because the questions weren’t leading to quality posts, and I was getting frustrated with myself. But, FF Friday has been revamped! I’m going to give it another try. Click here to see how it has changed.

In The Rest Of My Life

Five things that made me happy last week:

  1. My mom’s birthday.
  2. President’s Day sales.
  3. Cheap Candy Day (February 15th).
  4. I got the impressions made for my nightguard. I’m one step closer to not waking up with annoying jaw pain.
  5. I followed approximately four gazillion new book blogs on Bloglovin’. I’ve been trying to support bloggers who are just getting started.

I hope you had a great week! See you around the blogosphere!

  1. I actually own The Miniaturist, but still haven't gotten around to reading it. I'm looking forward to your thoughts on that one! I'm really excited to hear that F&F changed for the better! I left it a long time ago for the same reasons as you, but I might try this new one! Have a great week! :D

    1. Yeah, the President’s Day sales led to me buying books when I shouldn’t have. Oops.

  4. I loved your FF post. And like you when I started blogging about books I realized there was a whole world of people out there who were into books as much as I am. It made me feel a lot better about being called a book nerd. (And now I can totally embrace that phrase positively--instead of thinking of it as a negative like I did way back in high school!)

Hope you have a great week and happy reading (and blogging, of course)!!

  5. Yes! I'm so happy FF has been revamped! I also quit doing it because the quality was going down. This is great!

  6. Aw, I think it's sweet that you're trying to support new bloggers! I always try to do that too - I remember what it was like to be new to the book blogging scene and be so excited about every single comment (or even view!)

    1. I remember how excited I was when my blog got its first few followers. I thought I’d spread the love and follow some blogs that don’t have a lot of followers.

  7. Birthdays and candy sales always make me happy. I also try to follow as many new bloggers as I can. If I visit a blog, I try to follow in as many ways as possible. I will have to check out the Feature and Follow meme.
