Sunday Salon is hosted by Readerbuzz. They’re a chance to recap the
past week, talk about next week, and share news. It’s Monday, What Are You

Announcement
On The Blog Last Week
- On Tuesday I recommended some winter books.
- On Thursday I reviewed the books I read for Nonfiction November.
On The Blog This Week
- On Tuesday I show you what I’m hopefully reading this winter.
- On Thursday . . . . There will be a blog post. I hope. I don’t know! I haven’t written anything yet!
In My Reading Life
For some reason, I was busy
last week. I don’t know what happened, but THE WHOLE UNIVERSE seemed to be
scheduled for that week. I didn’t finish any books. I did eat a lot of Christmas cookies and watch a lot of Downton Abbey. I’m currently reading Best-Loved
Folktales of the World
by Joanna Cole and Blindness
by José Saramago, but I made pretty much no progress on either of them last week.
In The Rest Of My Life
Five things that made me happy
last week:
- I finished shopping for Secret Santa and mailed the gifts to my person. I hope she likes them.
- Most of my Christmas shopping is done.
- New books.
- Thank you to everyone who has entered my giveaway so far.
- The Christmas tree is upright and somewhat decorated! The lights on the tree have only malfunctioned twice so far. The bottom of the tree is mostly undecorated because the small creatures in my house are ornament thieves. Still, it looks very festive in here.
Hello? I Need Friends
Take care of yourselves and be kind to each
other! See you around the blogosphere!
Your tree looks lovely! I haven’t quite finished my Christmas shopping yet either.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week
Your tree is lovely, and what is that, a group of bears? Adorable. Being busy eating cookies sounds like time well spent, I'm just saying
ReplyDeleteOh, love the tiny tots. Scary when you think about it.
ReplyDeleteWe are completely ready for Christmas. I sent off my Secret Santa this week, too. I hope he likes his books. I was amazed to find four of the books on his list for less than fifteen dollars.
Your tree is beautiful. I especially love that star on top. Bold.
Have a fabulous week!
That TinyTots meme has me giggling!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tree! I can commiserate on the bottom half of the tree woes! Also with everything happening last week! I was home one day and that was a day I had to host family! I'm looking forward to the new year!
Happy reading and have a great week! :D
Love that meme! And now I'm craving tater tots. :) So envious that you're almost done with your shopping. And your Christmas tree is so lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe tiny tots cracked me up!! Your tree looks so pretty... ours is up and the lights are on, but we'll wait until our daughters arrive to add ornaments. The shopping WILL get sone this week and I hope to start a light holiday book, too. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteWell the tree loks great AJ! Just in front of its big brothers LOL
ReplyDeleteAny week with Christmas cookies and the tree already up and decorated sounds great to me! We're behind. I hope Lulu doesn't think the ornaments are toys for her. Hmm. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart
I need a Downton Abbey rewatch! I think I stopped around season 3 or 4... Lady Violet rocks!
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas tree is locking good!
Have a good week.
Your tree looks so pretty! I love the garland especially. Our tree is up but that's pretty much all we are doing since we'll be home 2 days before Christmas and will be leaving the day after Christmas! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAww, your tree looks great!
ReplyDeleteHa! My cat has de-ornamented the bottom of my tree. He and my other kitty also managed to unplug the lights to the bottom branches. The little scrooges.
ReplyDeleteHAH love that tiny tots meme. I've never seen it before. I feel like I haven't been reading much lately, so hopefully that will change in the next week or so. :) Love your tree - very pretty!

Your tree is beautiful. Mine's in from the backyard but it's not decorated yet. My weekly update
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks beautiful. I loved Downton Abbey. But only watched a few episodes from the last season. Didn´t want it to end *smile*
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks beautiful! And last week - what was with that week and everyone? Lol. Hopefully you get some time to read this week. The folktale book sounds good!
ReplyDeleteI ain't eatin' no green tatter tops! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays! It will be more and more dun with each year Brooklyn gets older. 🎄
ReplyDeleteIt does look festive! And I too am having trouble finding time read.
ReplyDeleteMy tree is about half decorated. I decided I needed more ornaments but haven't put them on the tree yet. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I love Downton Abbey. Nothing wrong with watching too much of it. :)
ReplyDeleteKrystianna @ Volumes and Voyages
Your tree looks wonderful - and I'm nowhere NEAR finishing my Christmas preparations, either! Have a great week and I hope it is more fun than exhausting...
ReplyDeleteThe tree looks really pretty. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteLOL at the tiny tots. I hope this week is a little more relaxing for you. :)
ReplyDeleteI saw the very first episode of Downton Abbey but never got back to watch it! I do have the episodes taped and will get to them eventually. I need to get started on watching The Crown!
ReplyDeleteCrap. You gotta hate when the whole Universe sticks its nose in. Ugh. lol
ReplyDeleteI just ate tator tots last night so that photo cracked me up. When we had a dog and small babies, I couldn't decorate the bottom of our tree either. Happy holidays!
