The
Sunday Post is hosted by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a
chance to recap the past week, talk about next week, and share news. It’s
Monday, What Are You Reading? is hosted by Book
Date. I get to tell you what I’ve read recently.
On The Blog Last Week
- On Monday I reviewed American Housewife: Stories by Helen Ellis.
- On Tuesday I showed you some covers I love.
- On Wednesday I reviewed The Sound of Gravel: A Memoir by Ruth Wariner.
- On Thursday I wrapped up April.
- On Saturday I showed you my Massive Spring Book Haul (Part 1).
On The Blog This Week
- On Monday we discuss what I learned from blogging for 30 straight days.
- On Tuesday I fill in the blank: “Fiction needs more _____.”
- On Wednesday I review The Book of Strange New Things by Michel Faber.
- On Saturday I have part 2 of the Massive Spring Book Haul.
In My Reading Life
I think Dewey’s 24-Hour Read-a-Thon burned me out. I barely read
at all last week. Oops. I started a few books, couldn’t concentrate, put them
down, and didn’t pick them up again. I didn’t finish any books. I’m nearly
halfway through The Library at Mount Char
by Scott Hawkins, so I’ll try to finish that this week.
In The Rest Of My Life
Five things that made me happy recently:
- Mexican food.
- I survived the A to Z blogging challenge!
- I had lots of fun during the read-a-thon, even though it killed my reading mojo.
- I don’t talk about work on this blog (‘cause I have to keep some things private), but I’m feeling strangely optimistic about my career. This is weird because I usually feel like I’m hitting walls or drowning with no hope of rescue. Good things don’t usually happen to me, people!
- I finally ran 5k without stopping or walking. Finally! My new goal is 10k.
Take care of yourselves and be kind to each other! See you around
the blogosphere!
Yum, Mexican food! We made tacos for Cinco de Mayo! Congrats on the 5k! Running is never something I could get into. I've always wanted to be a runner, but I can only do about 30 seconds! I blame my short stubby legs.
ReplyDeleteOh dear! I hope Readathon didn't burn you out for long! Let's hope you hit your stride again.

Sorry your reading mojo is kind of gone. Yay for being optimistic about your career!!! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI had a personal running victory this week too, it feels amazing doesn't it. And I'm working towards 10K now too. We can do it!
ReplyDeleteWell done for blogging 30 days straight, I'll be interested to see what you learnt from it. Sounds like such an interesting post.
I just participated in the Dewey's 24 hour readathon and I really enjoyed it, even though I only read 2 books during that whole readathon. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog and join in this week’s Book Photo Sundays!
Well, I like your Five Things. Especially the last two.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to tomorrow and Tuesday, though I doubt we'll agree on the latter's topic.
Interesting, looking forward to your 30 day post :) 30 subsequent days sound like they'd leave a dent.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
That 30 straight days post should be interesting! And I think Dewey's would wipe me out too. I mean I love reading but for 24 hours (or even just attempting, you know, as much of that as possible) would probably set me behind all week.
ReplyDeleteYup, Mexican food. Anytime is a good time. And congrats on the 5k!
I know the Readathon would burn me out, which is why I've always avoided it. Congrats on the 5K.
ReplyDeleteIt was another busy week but I did manage to finish some books. Come see what I'm reading.
Mexican food cures all woes.
ReplyDeleteMexican food seems a theme this week with Cinqo de Mayo (spelt wrong I think), though I don't think you need to wait for a special day - love the stuff. Congrats on running 5K. I have that dream (and feels like how it will stay).
ReplyDeleteI surprised myself with the amount of reading I got done last week. I hit a stretch of books I couldn't put down. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteGood news on work! I didn't Readathon and I still had a slow reading week.
ReplyDeleteI don't fancy my chances with reading this week as I've started a binge rewatching of Game of Thrones! I'm already into season two on my third day of it.
