At the beginning of the year, I asked my bookish friends to recommend happy, quirky, funny books to me. I wanted to get out of my depressing reading comfort zone. However, I was worried that the happy books would be frivolous, and I'd get bored with them because they wouldn't give me anything to think about.
Luckily, that hasn't been true! Even quirky books have thought-provoking lines. In this post, I'm sharing a few of my favorite quotes.
Oh, and here's an update on the book recommendations that I've read so far. The quotes are from these books and a few other happy books I've loved.

ReplyDeleteGREAT job on the presentation! Loved that murder quote, and the angry little girl..XD I went with recent Kindle highlights.
ReplyDeleteAww, that Arthur Pepper quote has me a little teary-eyed! But that Finley Donovan quote - yes, totally agree.
ReplyDeleteThese are all good quotes, and I love the graphics you found for them.
ReplyDeleteHere is my Top Ten Tuesday.

These are great! I loved The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper. A recent happy book recommendation would be The Book of Beginnings by Sally Page or Nosy Neighbours by Freya Sampson - both lovely.

ReplyDeleteIt makes me very happy to see The House in the Cerulean Sea. :)
ReplyDeleteYes to happy, cozy book quotes! I especially love that one from The House in the Cerulean Sea.
ReplyDelete"Murder can't be your first choice every time you don't like something."
ReplyDeleteWhy not? LOL
I loved The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches so much! It was sweet and fun and lighthearted and yet, still got you in the feels.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
The Finlay Donovan quote made me laugh! And I love that quote from Remarkably Bright Creatures. :D
ReplyDeleteCan murder really not be my first choice? I love that and it paired well with that picture.
ReplyDeleteI like the murder and jigsaw quotes! A book that made me happy? Looking at the books read this year, it would be one I just finished (and will be published later this month, but I read an advance copy), "Goyhood."
ReplyDeleteHa ha. That's definitely a true quote about moms wanting to kill someone by 8:30. My oldest, who has a 7-month-old, and I were just talking about how tough parenthood is. Dealing with kids, spouses, and every other aspect of life can just put us over the edge sometimes!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
I have read so many of these books!
