Top Ten Tuesday: Blogger Love

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is thankfulness. I’m thankful for the blogosphere, so I’m going to give shout-outs to some awesome book blogs. I’m sorry that I had to leave a bunch of bloggers out. I swear it’s not personal. I follow a lot of blogs, and I had to limit myself somehow. These are the first blogs that popped into my head.

Blogger Love

First, check out the blogs in my Blog Stalker in the sidebar -->. I haven’t gotten a chance to update the Stalker in a long time, but I promise that all of those blogs are excellent.

1. Stephanie Jane

Stephanie Jane runs several blogs. (I don’t know how. She must be a wizard. I can barely handle one blog). They’re all good, but I like the Stephanie Jane blog because of the #WorldReads series. On the fifth of each month, Stephanie Jane highlights five books she’s read from a particular country. I like this idea. It promotes reading widely and diversely.

2. Girl Plus Books

Tanya mostly reviews romance, but I love her anyway 😉. She’s friendly and makes nice graphics for her Top Ten Tuesday posts. I’m envious of anyone who can make a graphic that is simple, informative, and not horrendously ugly. That’s a skill I’ll never master.

3. Olivia’s Catastrophe

Olivia is so good at #Bookstagram! It’s obvious that she puts a ton of effort and editing into her photos. I wish I had that kind of skill. Or that kind of patience. Also, she travels to the coolest places ever. I’d like to swap lives with Olivia, please. Check out her vacation photos. You’ll probably be envious.

4. Forever Lost In Literature

I think I found Jordan’s blog through Top Ten Tuesday, but I stuck around for the classics and spooky stuff. It’s surprisingly difficult to find bloggers with similar reading tastes to mine. I get excited whenever I see older books, translated books, literary fiction, scary books, and other oddities.

5. Reading With Jade

Jade and I always seem to do the same read-a-thons. This year, we both did Dewey’s, Fraterfest, and Nonfiction November. I love the minimalist style of this blog. Even the photos are minimalist. Also, there are photos in every post! I considered doing that on my blog, but I quickly discovered that I’m much too lazy to take a photo for every post.

6. Books With Noel

This is a fairly new blog. Go show it love, especially if you like YA books or anime. I know I’ve been slacking on reading YA for the past two years, but I’m still drawn to bloggers who review it. I have to promote people who are new to the community and reviewing great kids’ books.

7. The Bookish Libra

Another blogger who writes thoughtful reviews of young adult books! (And sometimes adult books.) Suzanne loves All The Light We Cannot See, so obviously she has excellent taste in literature. That’s one of my favorites, too. If you like #Bookstagram, check out Suzanne’s account. It’s pretty.

8. Brooke’s Reviews And Sweeps

I have to give a shout-out to a fellow Colorado blogger. I found Brooke’s blog when I was looking for reviews of political and historical nonfiction. I swear I’m going to read more books about those topics. Brooke’s Reviews And Sweeps has definitely had a negative influence on my TBR list. I’ve added quite a few books to the list after seeing them on Brooke’s blog. If you’re not into nonfiction, Brooke also reads YA.

9. Book Haven

I see Greg all over the blogosphere. We both seem to follow an insane number of blogs, and we both like talking about Game of Thrones. We seem to cross paths often. Also, I somewhat blame Greg for getting me addicted to Pinterest. I got curious about Pinterest after seeing all of the cool sci-fi/fantasy images on Book Haven. I wanted to find some cool images for myself. Now I’ve wasted a zillion hours of my life on Pinterest. Yeah, thanks, Book Haven.

10. The Unfinished Intellectual

This blog was a somewhat recent discovery for me. Since I spent about a third of my life in college, and I’m always thinking about going back for more college, the blog’s title spoke to me. This blog has a nice mix of bookish stuff and personal/life stuff. I always like getting to know the person behind the blog. Trisha reads a mixture of classic and modern books.

There’s always room at the table . . .

It’s Thanksgiving! We can always make space for more friends. Here are 10 more blogs you might want to check out:

Some of these bloggers I recognize and love, and some are new to me--it looks like I need to go check them out because I am always trying to find new blogs to add to my regulars. Brooke's Reviews and Sweeps sounds really neat with more of a focus on nonfiction, I don't see that as much around.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
