June Currently . . .

I can’t believe that June is already over. This month was one of the hardest I’ve had in a long time. I was sick, busy, traveling, and generally exhausted for most of it. But, I’m hoping that July will be better. Here’s what I did in June.

I’m currently . . .

Reading: Charm & Strange by Stephanie Kuehn.

Planning: To hike often this summer.

Eating: Everything bad. I totally fell off the healthy-eating wagon, and then Snickers ice cream happened. Multiple times.

Watching: Gordon Ramsay shows. For some reason, it’s entertaining to watch him scream at people. Also, if you’ve never looked up Ramsay memes, they’re hilarious.

Stalking: Read Diverse Books. I’m pretty sure that Naz is a superhero. His blog and Twitter are bringing attention to the need for diversity in the bookish/writing/publishing community. Go check out his blog and the #DiverseBookBloggers hashtag.

Wishing For: My mom’s computer to stop having problems . . .

Goal Setting: Find balance. I’m a very driven person. If I want something, nothing will stop me. This isn’t always good for my health or sanity.

Blogging: I finally caught up on book reviews, and now I’m trying to get ahead on other posts. I don’t like writing a post the night before it goes up. I can’t handle that kind of pressure.

Learning: This middlegrade book taught me a whole lot about jellyfish. I’m a little bit scared of them now. They are pretty interesting, though . . . in a painful, deadly way.

What did you do in June?

  1. Don't for get to take a book or two during your hikes! I have also fallen off the healthy-eating wagon..Earlier this year and the last half of 2015, I eat only whole foods. That's when I became a vegetarian. I am still one now, but am eating more junk food and have resumed my addiction to sugar. :/ I also need to start exercising again. SIGH.

    Anyway,

AJ, you're too kind! Thanks for the shout out. I will bookmark your blog alongside my other faves. I usually only visit back when you visit mine, and I'm sorry! You're awesome so I will try to visit more often. :)

  2. Ugh I fell off the eating healthy wagon too. I have had such a hard time getting back at it! Jellyfish freak me out!

  3. I'm sorry that June was so rough for you! Sending positive thoughts for you that July will be better ♥ I started hiking in Spring too but now there are too many mosquitoes so I've fallen off the wagon that way. I've taken to walking on the beach until Fall when I can start hiking again :D Happy reading!

    1. Thanks! I’m glad that I live in a place that doesn’t have many mosquitoes. I would love to walk on a beach. We don’t have those, either.

  4. I LOVE watching Gordon Ramsey. 'Hotel Nightmares' was on here recently and I was obsessed with it. He's a bit harsh at times, but it seems like the only way he can get through to these people sometimes is to be harsh - they just don't get it. But he's got a heart of gold that guy; it's so lovely when he does something nice for people on the shows.
Anyway, I hope you have a good July - it sounds like anything will be an improvement on last month!

    1. I love Gordon Ramsay, too. Some of those people on his hotel show are nuts. How do they think it’s okay to let their hotels get that dirty?

  5. I've read 15 books in June which I am pretty happy about, but have been very lazy and had to buy a bigger-size-than-normal dress to go to a wedding so that's my incentive to eat healthily through July at leadt! I wish the weather would stay hot and sunny so I could enjoy lots of salads!
Anyway, my book round-up is here: http://stephjb.blogspot.co.uk/2016/06/a-month-in-books-june-2016.html

  6. Hahaha! I love Gordon Ramsay so much!! I only really started watching him this year on Netflix (and now Hulu) and find him to be both sweet and hilarious! I hope you get to do some hiking this summer! I used to go all the time, but haven't been in years.

    1. Gordon Ramsay is intense, but sometimes I understand why he loses his temper with those people. Their restaurants and hotels are disgusting.

  7. Gordon Ramsay memes are my weakness. I never really seek them out and I don't watch many cooking shows anymore, and yet I still know all of them. Shoutout to my Facebook homies.

I always love how entertaining your recaps are overall. :) I'm currently relating to way too many of these--particularly assisting parents with computer issues and eating horribly. That second bit of which is strange. I just recently went vegan, but I've been trying out all the junk foods for fun. My face isn't exactly happy about that, that's for sure. D':

  8. Ooh, do you like Charm and Strange?! I ADORE THAT BOOK. I read it a few years back though, so the details are fuzzy, but I remember really really liking it.😂

    1. I loved the writing and the werewolf bits. I thought the ending was really predictable, though.

  9. Snickers Ice Cream? I didn't know that was a thing but I want some...probably multiple times :) I really need to get ahead with blogging myself. I am always writing posts the night before and it stresses me out. Hopefully July is kind to you!

  10. Mhm Snickers ice cream! Of course that's something that was bound to happen several times, AJ!
And YAY for hiking this summer! I love hiking, too :)
    Enjoy July and happy reading.
