In My Reading Life

I've got nothing to report. I made a series of poor life choices and somehow ended up reading 3 thick books at the same time. I didn't finish any of them. I don't feel like I'm even making progress on them!

In The Rest Of My Life

Five things that happened last week:

1. The car broke, and the grocery store is too far away to carry a ton of groceries home, so I ate a bunch of take-out food. I guess I could have gotten groceries delivered, but burritos are better.

2. I didn't just get burritos. I also had pizza. And chocolate cupcakes. The car has been broken for a while. I've had a lot of time to eat food.

3. The season finales of the US versions of Love Is Blind and The Traitors happened. Now I'm watching the UK Traitors.

4. There was going to be a giant blizzard, so I went for a walk before the snow started. Here's the view from a random high school parking lot.

5. The Skunkumentary has fewer camera angles this week because of the blizzard. The cameras got buried. Skunk cameras are only 12 inches off the ground, and the snow was up to my thighs when I slogged outside to dig them up. I still haven't found the motion detector light. It's under the snow somewhere.

For more books I'm not reading

Take care of yourselves and be kind to each other. See you around the blogosphere!

  1. Being blocked on reading is bad! I almost always read only one book at a time, so I have more control: drop it or finish it! But then there’s always procrastination. Good luck getting your reading mojo back.

  2. Sorry to hear about the car. I hope you can get it repaired (and that it's not too expensive). Was that a fox at the end or just a snow covered skunk? It looked pretty big.

  5. A blizzard? I am so not good in cold weather though I do find snow beautiful. And I love the quiet that can come with it.

Your eating sounds like mine a couple weeks ago. I am trying to be better (story of my life).

  6. I hope your car can get fixed soon. Those burritos, pizza and cupcakes sure sound good! That's too bad about reading 3 thick books at the same time and feeling like you're not making much progress. Hopefully next week you can finish one.

  7. I hate it when my car is not working. I hate it when I am not able to read. I hate it when I can't get the food I want to eat. I'm sorry all of these are happening to you.

  8. I would only want that much snow if I was able to stay inside and had all that I needed, including power, LOL! I am sorry your car is broken, I hope you are able to get it fixed soon! I hope you have a good week.

  9. Damn AJ I forget how much snow you get in Colorado! I hope your car will be sorted soon enough!

  10. It's so frustrating to be without a car! I hope you can get yours fixed or replaced soon. A blizzard is one of those things that sounds fun to a snow-lover in a state that doesn't usually get much snow... but is probably no fun at all when you are actually in one. Also, good luck with your reading slump; I feel for you. Maybe table two of the big thick books for now, and alternate between one of them and something lighter? Whatever you decide, I hope this week treats you a bit more kindly than the last one did, Aj.

  11. I read some real chunksters early in the year and it felt like I went ages without finishing anything. Now I try to keep a list of short books that I want to read ... helps me to mix things up a little more.

  13. I'm curious about the three thick books! What are they and what do they want? I also want pizza and chocolate cupcakes now. Yum! I hope you get your car back soon, but then again, maybe not if it means you gotta stop with the burritos and pizza and cupcakes.

  14. I love that you're eating lots of burritos and ice cream because your car broke, lol. I hope it's fixed soon! Love the bunny!

  15. I like burritos! I like Mexican food better than my daughter. We've been eating out while a couple days of traveling. My car had a lovely Check Engine light the first day of the trip so I can relate. It was all too much food at every meal. I am glad we are moving into more springlike weather here. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

  22. I'm glad you survived your blizzard. Sorry to hear about your broken car. I'm hoping we can make it the rest of the winter without a blizzard. We did have a few scattered snowflakes a couple of days ago but nothing significant. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
