Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday! Today, we’re talking about book covers. Usually, my least-favorite book covers are the ones with people on them. I find “people covers” distracting because the characters on the cover rarely look like the characters in my imagination. I don’t like that. But, there are some stunning “people covers” in the book world. I adore these covers because they give the reader a glimpse into the story. I want to know who these characters are and what they’re doing.
Here are 10+ “people covers”
that grabbed my attention and made me stop scrolling. Click the titles to see a synopsis.
Books With People On The Cover
What's your favorite book with a person on the cover?
The cover of Bones of a Saint caught my eye and makes me want to see what it's about.
ReplyDeleteBlack and British sounds like such a good read.

I remember having a whole discussion with the kid about people on covers. She was ok with them as long as they don't show the faces for the exact reason you mentioned - they don't match up to how they look in her head.
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually a fan of people on covers but I do like several of these: A Sisterhood of Secret Ambitions, Made You Up and A Darker Shade of Magic, my big bug bear with people on covers are stock photos, I just think they're ugly, those three are illustrated/stylised so they look much nicer.

Bones of a Saint looks so interesting and I've never heard of it!
ReplyDeleteBones of a Saint is an amazing cover!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great series of covers. I am getting pretty sick of the historical novels, which all look the same right now with a woman walking away from the reader.
ReplyDeleteOf these, my fav is the Arrival. I love that book SO much! Such a good read.
ReplyDeleteI like the cover of Unmentionable, the way it looks like an old-timey photograph!
ReplyDeleteWoah Everything Is Teeth looks interesting!
ReplyDeleteOooh! I love the theme of this list! Great list!

Black and British is my favorite
ReplyDeleteThose are some beautiful covers, I especially like Made You Up. And I love the Jenny Lawson cover and can't wait to read her new book. As an e-reader, I don't spend much time thinking about covers, except I hate how similar most of them look. The ones you've chosen really stand out.
ReplyDeleteExcellent set of covers. I love the ones for Made You Up and the V.E. Schwab one.
