November Wrap-Up

November Overview

November was a month of traveling. I spent the beginning of the month hiking through Death Valley. I really needed a vacation, so it was a lot of fun. I got caught in a sandstorm and saw a wild tarantula.

Death Valley salt flats.

The grossest bug ever.

Wild burros.

A car in a sandstorm.

Me in a canyon.

Then, I spent two weeks in rainy Louisville, Kentucky for school. This was the view from my hotel room. I didn’t get to take many pictures because it was dark or raining whenever I had free time.

Louisville, KY

Books I Read

Since I was traveling so much, I didn’t have time for reading (or blogging, or answering messages). I only read 5 books last month, and 2 of them were rereads of books I’ve read a ton of times before. Here are the books:

The House of the Scorpion – Nancy Farmer
The Book Thief – Markus Zusak (reread)
Project X – Jim Shepard

Best Books Of November

Holes and The Book Thief are two of my favorite YA books ever, which was part of the reason why I reread them. It doesn’t feel fair to include them in the “Best Books” because I discovered them years ago and know that I love them. My favorite new-to-me book I read in November was this one:

The House of the Scorpion – Nancy Farmer

Most Popular Reviews

Here are the most-viewed reviews I posted in November:

  1. How I Live Now – Meg Rosoff
  2. Looking for Alaska – John Green
  3. Tilt – Ellen Hopkins

Most Popular Non-Reviews

Here are the most-viewed non-reviews of November:

  1. October Wrap-Up
  2. Top Ten Tuesday: Movies That I’ve Failed To See
  3. A Most-Anticipated Book Haul

Tentative December TBR

In December, I’m going to be writing a giant essay for school. Most of my reading will be for the essay. I might review a few of the books I read for it, but I don’t think you guys will be interested in most of them. I have no idea what else I’ll be reading. It depends on how long it takes to write the essay.

All The Things!

All The Things (AKA the number of unread books on my TBR shelf) = 39 books.
I’m currently reading Burning Down the House: Essays on Fiction by Charles Baxter.

  1. Gorgeous photos ♥ Except for the giant spider, he was creepy O.O

I think that 5 books is pretty good, especially considering you were travelling. I really want to read The House of the Scorpion too but I haven't gotten around to it yet. You made me want to read it even more :) Have a wonderful December and happy reading! xx

  4. Wow what a hike that must have been. I don't think I'd ever be able to handle that, but good on you for doing it!

    1. The hike wasn’t as hard as the heat. It was so hot, even in November.
