The Sunday Post #8

The Sunday Post is hosted by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to recap the past week, talk about next week, and share news.

On The Blog Last Week

On The Blog This Week

  • On Tuesday I list the top ten books on my summer TBR.
  • On Wednesday I review The Narrow Road to the Deep North by Richard Flanagan.
  • On Thursday I show off my latest book haul.
  • On Friday I get a (hypothetical) tattoo.

In My Reading Life

It took me all of last week to finish The Narrow Road to the Deep North. I liked the book a lot, but it was so dense that I had trouble reading more than 50 pages a day. That put me even farther behind on my reading schedule. I just started Smoke by Ellen Hopkins. Hopefully I can get through that one a little faster. Smoke is the sequel to Burned, and I loved Burned, so I think I’ll enjoy this one.

I hope everyone had a good week. See you later!

  1. I hope you enjoy Smoke and get through it a little quicker so you are back on schedule!! I hate when a book takes longer than I think and it throws me off.

  2. I really enjoyed The Narrow Road to the Deep North - though certainly found it hard going in places. I can see why it has won so many awards. I haven't heard of Ellen Hopkins though...

  6. I think Hopkins' books are pretty quick to get through because of the prose for the most of them. Hope you have a good week and are able to get more reading done!

  7. Congrats on getting through The Narrow Road regarldess! I felt that way when I was reading Brandon Sanderson's The Final Empire. GAWSH. I couldn't focus on more than 50-pages at a time, but I liked it in the end. x)
Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!
