October Wrap-Up

October Snapshots

1. I’m fairly sure I did nothing in October. It snowed the first week of the month, which put a damper on all of the fun fall stuff. I spent October trying to stay off Twitter (because it makes me melt into a puddle of gooey despair) and trying (in vain) to catch up on my Goodreads goal. Oh, Fraterfest and Dewey’s Readathon happened! Those were fun. I continued my long tradition of failing to read during readathons.

2. My fellow Americans: Please vote in midterms! It’s important. If you don’t vote, you can’t complain about what kind of dystopia we end up in. Vote early if you can. You’ll feel good about being responsible. Doing something responsible might also make you feel better about all of the irresponsible Halloween candy you’ve been munching.

3. It’s Nonfiction November! Who else is participating? I’m not officially signed up because I don’t have time for challenges or writing extra blog posts, but I’m going to read nonfiction all month. I already have a big stack of disturbing books next to my bed. I’m so ready for this.

I've already read Cannibalism, but these other books are on my nightstand.

Wayward Googlers

Here are a few amusing Google searches that led people to Read All The Things! last month. I’m sorry to the unfortunate souls who ended up here instead of finding what they were Googling for.

“Mythical creatures that clean your house.” I could definitely use some of those! There is currently dog hair everywhere. Why do dogs shed so much in fall? Anyway, you’re probably Googling for the Akaname. They lick bathrooms for . . . reasons.  

“Ted Bundy sibling names.” It’s comforting to know that the Wayward Googlers have healthy, normal interests.
