In My Reading Life
Last week, I read When The Sky Fell On Splendor
by Emily Henry. I’ve already written a review of it! Look at me, being
on top of things.
Right now, I’m reading After
Zero by Christina Collins. It’s reminding me why I don’t need to “see
myself” in fiction. Let’s leave all the unpleasantness in real life,
shall we? I like the book, though. It’s well-written and full of family
secrets.
In My Internet Stalking Life
- Amber @ Du Livre recommends books by Muslim authors.
In The Rest Of My Life
Five things that made me happy last week:
- It was my birthday. I’m another year closer to death! That doesn’t make me happy, but birthdays do break up the monotony a little.
- My parents got me a new speaker for my radio. Bring on the annoyingly loud music!
- Chinese food and chocolate cake.
- I’m so close to catching up on writing reviews! Prepare yourselves to see a lot of them in the coming weeks.
- Thanks to everyone who has entered my giveaway so far!
My birthday wish is to have friends
Take care of
yourselves and be kind to each other! See you around the blogosphere!
Happy birthday! I tend to just ignore mine and we don't do anything special for it anyway except maybe an excuse for cake!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I spent my birthday filling out job applications, so I guess I don’t do anything special either.

Hi AJ - so pleased you're having a happy birthday (few days) ... and here's to many more - even if the day is a little nearer ... just sincerely hope your image title doesn't come to pass! Take care and enjoy the beginning of Spring - and enjoy the music ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I hope you have an awesome day!
ReplyDeleteChinese Food and Chocolate Cake sounds fantastic. I love Chinese Food. :)

Happy birthday once again! Enjoy those annoyingly loud speakers. LOL!
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction

ReplyDeleteHaha, very true.

Happy belated Birthday! Have a great week lady :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday!! Any cake is good cake, but chocolate is especially good. I haven't heard of After Zero but I'll be looking forward to what you think!
ReplyDeleteI really liked it! It’s one of the best books I’ve read so far this year.
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
The way to look at a birthday is that you are celebrating the fact that you've managed to dodge death for another whole year...:). That's why there's cake. The speakers sound like good fun, too. I hope the week's reading is a bit more satisfactory than the two YA reads last week and the week goes well.
ReplyDeleteThis week’s reading has been excellent so far. I loved both of the books I’ve read this week.
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Happy birthday! Chinese food and chocolate cake sound like my idea of a great night.
ReplyDeleteYES! Cake and Chinese food are two of my favorite things.
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Happy birthday! The older I have gotten, the happier I have become (well, except for that long stretch during my forties). Maybe that will be true for you, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely giveaway!
I hope so. Being happier would give me something to look forward to.
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Happy birthday! I really like Chinese food, but no restaurant in my area :(
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic week!
I don’t know if I could survive with no Chinese food. I eat a lot of it.

Happy birthday! Enjoy your week of reading and blogging, and whatever else takes your fancy. Thanks for sharing, and here are
ReplyDeleteMY WEEKLY UPDATES
I hope you had a happy birthday, chocolate cake and all. I went to a 50th birthday party last night for a friend I've known since 3rd grade. That'll put the fear of mortality into you for sure.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I don’t think I have any friends I’ve known since third grade. I’ve lost touch with everybody I knew back then.
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Loved your high school post this week. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, AJ! Any week with chocolate cake is a good week in my opinion. Yay for being on top of things. I hope you have a great week!

DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!

Happy birthday! Enjoy that new speaker.
ReplyDeleteThat book you read sounded like a total waste of time. That's a bummer. Hopefully you'll have a good run of great books now.
Enjoy your week.

Belated birthday wishes.
ReplyDeleteHapppppy birthday!!! A year close to death omg. πThat's one way to celebrate. (Although tbh I hate birthdays because I feel old and unaccomplished hha.) But chocolate cake makes most things better. Also I enjoyed Splendor too!! It felt like a good ol' sci-fi romp and I expected the Stranger Things kids to tumble in at any time.π
ReplyDeleteIt was a good sci-fi romp. It’s been a while since I read sci-fi. My birthday makes me feel old and unaccomplished, too.
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Happy Birthday! And closer to death.. LOL!! Yes, true!! But putting it that sounds a little depressing! Whahaha
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and happy reading!
Haha, thanks! Hopefully death doesn’t come anytime soon.

Happy birthday! Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! I've been binging chinese food lately, it's actually rather sad because they're now in my contact list on my phone and in walking distance from my house.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I had the Chinese restaurant as a contact in my old phone, but I don’t think it’s in my current one. It probably should be!
DeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Happy Birthday! And yay for getting caught up on reviews. I wish I could say the same, lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Reviews pile up so fast and take so long to write. I’m always behind.
