The Sunday Post #191

If this blog is accidentally swallowed, call poison control.

The Sunday Post is hosted by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to recap the past week, talk about next week, and share news. It’s Monday, What Are You Reading? is hosted by Book Date. I get to tell you what I’ve read recently.

On The Blog Last Week

On The Blog This Week

  • On Tuesday I review two adult books.
  • On Thursday I do the Sunshine Blogger Award Tag.
  • On Saturday there are more book reviews.

In My Reading Life

Last week, I read When The Sky Fell On Splendor by Emily Henry. I’ve already written a review of it! Look at me, being on top of things.

Right now, I’m reading After Zero by Christina Collins. It’s reminding me why I don’t need to “see myself” in fiction. Let’s leave all the unpleasantness in real life, shall we? I like the book, though. It’s well-written and full of family secrets.

In My Internet Stalking Life

In The Rest Of My Life

Five things that made me happy last week:

  1. It was my birthday. I’m another year closer to death! That doesn’t make me happy, but birthdays do break up the monotony a little.
  2. My parents got me a new speaker for my radio. Bring on the annoyingly loud music!
  3. Chinese food and chocolate cake.
  4. I’m so close to catching up on writing reviews! Prepare yourselves to see a lot of them in the coming weeks.
  5. Thanks to everyone who has entered my giveaway so far!

My birthday wish is to have friends

Take care of yourselves and be kind to each other! See you around the blogosphere!

  1. Happy birthday! I tend to just ignore mine and we don't do anything special for it anyway except maybe an excuse for cake!

    1. Thanks! I spent my birthday filling out job applications, so I guess I don’t do anything special either.

  2. Hi AJ - so pleased you're having a happy birthday (few days) ... and here's to many more - even if the day is a little nearer ... just sincerely hope your image title doesn't come to pass! Take care and enjoy the beginning of Spring - and enjoy the music ... cheers Hilary

  9. The way to look at a birthday is that you are celebrating the fact that you've managed to dodge death for another whole year...:). That's why there's cake. The speakers sound like good fun, too. I hope the week's reading is a bit more satisfactory than the two YA reads last week and the week goes well.

  11. Happy birthday! The older I have gotten, the happier I have become (well, except for that long stretch during my forties). Maybe that will be true for you, too.

  14. I hope you had a happy birthday, chocolate cake and all. I went to a 50th birthday party last night for a friend I've known since 3rd grade. That'll put the fear of mortality into you for sure.

    1. Haha, I don’t think I have any friends I’ve known since third grade. I’ve lost touch with everybody I knew back then.

  22. Happy birthday! Enjoy that new speaker.

That book you read sounded like a total waste of time. That's a bummer. Hopefully you'll have a good run of great books now.

    Enjoy your week.

  23. Happpppy birthday!!! A year close to death omg. πŸ˜‚That's one way to celebrate. (Although tbh I hate birthdays because I feel old and unaccomplished hha.) But chocolate cake makes most things better. Also I enjoyed Splendor too!! It felt like a good ol' sci-fi romp and I expected the Stranger Things kids to tumble in at any time.πŸ˜‚
