The Sunday
Post is hosted by The Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to recap the past week,
talk about next week, and share news. It’s Monday, What Are You Reading? is
hosted by Book Date. I get
to tell you what I’ve read recently.
On The Blog Last Week
- On Monday I reviewed James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl.
- On Wednesday I reviewed The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare.
- On Thursday I did the Hogwarts tag.
- On Saturday I showed you part 3 of my Massive Spring Book Haul.
On The Blog This Week
- On Monday I review IT by Stephen King.
- On Tuesday I show you what’s in my un-beach bag.
- On Wednesday I review Sex with the Queen: 900 Years of Vile Kings, Virile Lovers, and Passionate Politics by Eleanor Herman.
- On Saturday I have part 4 of my Massive Spring Book Haul.
In My Reading Life
It
snowed again last week, so I actually got some reading done. I finished Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
by J.K. Rowling and The Lottery and Other
Stories by Shirley Jackson. Then I read There
Once Lived a Mother Who Loved Her Children, Until They Moved Back In: Three
Novellas About Family by Ludmilla Petrushevskaya. Right now, I’m reading The Ghosts of Heaven by Marcus Sedgwick.
In The Rest Of My Life
Five
things that made me happy last week:
- The dogs got groomed. Now they’re fluffy, and they don’t smell like ass.
- I cleaned so much. I hated every second of the cleaning, but I’m glad my rooms are clean.
- I wrote some blog posts. You’re probably like “duh,” but it’s actually been about 2 weeks since I did any serious blogging. I’ve mostly been relying on scheduled posts.
- I accidentally acquired more books. Oops.
- Taking pictures of squirrels. Now I have a million squirrel photos to edit.
Take
care of yourselves and be kind to each other! See you around the blogosphere!
I look forward to your review of IT. I had my dog groomed as well, she goes every 6 weeks (more than I go to the hairdressers!) Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI love when my dog gets groomed - he smells so good! More books is always good :) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteTaking pictures of squirrels sounds so cute! I love them, and am always amazed at how fearless they are when high high up in the branches of trees.
ReplyDeleteLots of books and squirrels sounds like a pretty good week!
ReplyDeleteOoh, you're reviewing IT! Cool. I'll have a look. I read that book in my teens and really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
It sounds like you've had a good week. Like you, I've got into a routine of scheduling blog posts and then last week suddenly remembered that I had to actually write some more posts again. A to Z Challenge helps me get ahead for a while but then I slip back to my old ways.
ReplyDeleteWill you share your squirrel photos here?

I also started cleaning my house during the weekend and it was worth it! Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post!

Snow? Yikes. Glad you got some good reading in though. LOL about your dogs. And isn't it funny how we just "accidentally" acquire books sometimes? :)
ReplyDeleteYou sound so busy and snow (I'm so envious, it is now hot and humid in South Georgia).
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness---snow! As much as I love Colorado, the idea of snow in May is downright frightening to me!

"I accidentally acquired more books." I need that on a t-shirt. It's perfect!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!

I really like Shirley Jackson's short stories. I need to take more time to read more of them.
ReplyDeleteMy husband is home. My daughter had two pieces in her school's art show. And we got new cement poured at the bottom of our stoop. Come see what I'm reading.
I hate cleaning the house, too, and afterwards, I always feel better...and wonder why I put it off, as my place is small enough that it doesn't take long.
ReplyDeleteI am smiling as I read the title "There Once Lived a Mother Who Loved Her Children, Until They Moved Back In." I can relate! For a few years, it felt like my house had a revolving door.
Now they've all been on their own for a long while...and I am very happy when they come and visit...and sometimes fondly recall that revolving door.
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
Oops, didn't mean to leave the link twice!
DeleteOh do we get to see squirrel pictures?! I have one stalking my bird feeders - he's adorable, but I need to give him his own space so he'll leave my bird seed alone!
ReplyDeleteI just read Witch of Blackbird Pond for the first time last year, and couldn't believe I'd waited so long to get to it. Such a great book.
I am mostly relying on scheduled posts right now too but they are running out. I need to devote an evening to scheduling ahead. Of course that doesn't help if I haven't read any books. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDelete>I accidentally acquired more books. Oops.
ReplyDeleteHa, how DOES that happen? ;)
One thing I miss, living in Tempe: squirrels. Small lizards and scary bugs are no substitute at all...
Have a good week!
I did some cleaning too, ugh. And accumulated new books. I just can't help myself.
ReplyDeleteHoe nice to be so far ahead on your blog posts. I would love to get to that point as sometimes I feel like I spend a lot of time writing each day.
ReplyDeleteI need to get my dogs groomed because well...they smell like ass :) I can't believe that you just had snow. That is just wrong. It sounds like you had a pretty good week. Have a great week this week!
