In My Reading Life
Last week, I finished I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios. Then I read Misery by Stephen King and Terrible Typhoid Mary: A True Story of the Deadliest
Cook in America by Susan Campbell Bartoletti. Right now, I’m reading Say You’re One of Them by Uwem Akpan.
In The Rest Of My Life
Five things
that made me happy last week:
- Backing away from the computer for most of a day.
- Going out to eat with my parents and grandpa.
- Listening to owls at night. There are so many owls around here.
- Reading a Stephen King book. They remind me of my childhood.
- Briefly getting caught up on book reviews. I always seem to be behind.
I hope you
have a great week! See you around the blogosphere!
I am always behind on my book reviews, sigh. It's just a fact for life for me. I have very few owls near me; at least I rarely hear them. But we have deer and beavers, oh and bears. The Typhoid Mary book sounds interesting, I didn't realize she was a cook.
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!
Oh, I loved Misery!
ReplyDeleteHave you been watching Stranger Things on Netflix? I love the show! It's got me wanting to read a good horror book.
I hope you enjoyed Misery!! I've been wanting to read it forever, but never got around to it! I'm looking forward to your post on DNFs. It's a topic I'm always interested to see other opinions on. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Weekly Recap!
I'm curious about I'll Meet You There. I also loved Misery, but I can take horror only in small doses.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your week.
I love listening to owls, as well! It's so relaxing. I'm looking forward to your DNF post, as I'm curious to hear what you think about the topic. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog!
I always try to review books as soon as I finish them, but that usually doesn't pan out. Hopefully we can both get caught up.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Tynga's Reviews,
Stéphanie
I haven't read Stephen King books in a long time, but I always enjoyed them. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI do a "tech free" 24 hours once a month. It's been an interesting experience. I occasionally have to adjust the day I do it on, since I absolutely "have to" have my PC on the originally planned day.
ReplyDeleteI've heard I'll Meet You There is good. And I love to hear owls, although we don't have nearly enough around here.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a nice week.
It is so hard to get caught up on book reviews! I'm almost a month behind! Aaack! Thanks so much for stopping by my Sunday Post earlier!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read a Stephen King book since I was a kid, either. I'm curious how you liked Misery - I remember seeing the movie when I was young!

I want to read the Typhoid Mary book! My grandmother always used to call people who had colds around her Typhoid Mary and I've always wanted to find out more about her since I found out she did actually exist. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteGreat week you had! I would like to look at owls someday! Here’s my Sunday Post!
ReplyDeleteTerrible Typhoid Mary looks interesting. And Misery does too. I haven't read that Stephen King book yet. I hope you enjoy reading this week!
ReplyDeleteMy It's Monday! What Are You Reading? post.
I liked I'll Meet You There. I've never read a book by Stephen King. He's on my "must read someday" list of authors. Come see what my week was like here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, time away from the computer can be an excellent thing. And I'm with you, though probably read Stephen King when I was in my early 20s so when I read him now I'm transported back to then!
