To be honest, I'm kind of afraid I won't really get them - it makes me pause that there are "guides" on the internet that are about the best Murakami books to start with. Any author whose works I shouldn't just jump into randomly is SCARY. I've been curious about Murakami's writing but have heard very mixed things about his books.
